From September 9 to 21, there will be an exhibition space on the site next to the Kattendans with local stories about the Second World War, developments that accelerated after the Second World War and about the four freedoms. Visitors are encouraged to think about what freedom means to them. The exact dates and times will follow in August/September.

Give war a face
Give war a face
Heemkundekring Bergeijk has set up the exhibition 'Give war a face' in the church at ''t Hof'. An exhibition about people who saw their dreams and expectations for the future cut short, often abruptly, by or as a result of war violence. The monument for Bergeijk war victims behind the Hofkerk contains 42 names. Who were these people? By giving them a face and continuing to talk about them, their memory is kept alive. Program for schools
An educational program is available for the schools, consisting of lesson letters, a visit to the exhibitions, reading sessions, library stories, Veteran in the classroom and an interactive game. Children receive information about the Second World War in general, about local stories and are challenged to think about the meaning of freedom. All students receive a Dutch waving flag that can be used to welcome the liberators on September 14.
Vehicles from Operation Market Garden
On Saturday, September 14, we welcome our liberators from 80 years ago in Bergeijk. About 50 vehicles from Operation Market Garden will drive around 12:00 through Burgemeester Aartslaan / Broekstraat / Kennedylaan / Molenakkers / Hof to the event site next to the Kattendans. The vehicles will remain there until they leave for Valkenswaard on Sunday morning, September 15 at 8 a.m.
